Trevor Cole, Professorial Fellow, Institute for Innovation, Macquarie University
Recently retired as the Peter Nicol Russell Professor of Electrical Engineering at The University of Sydney with a doctorate from the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, Trevor is a Professorial Fellow at Macquarie University’s Institute for Innovation. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and has sat on the AusIndustry IR&D Board for several years. Trevor has been the Executive Director of the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering, Chair of the Australian Microelectronics Network and CEO of the Australian Graduate School of Engineering Innovation. His major focus is the creation of wealth and jobs through technology innovation and commercialisation.
Matthew Henderson, Director, Australian Technology Connections
Matthew Henderson has had an extensive career in technology development and new business creation. Currently commercialising a range of wireless sensor devices, Matthew was a founding director of Klaxon, which provides real-time monitoring to the refrigerated Shipping Industry. Klaxon was a high growth rate company which raised considerable venture capital and government grants. Prior to Klaxon, Matthew held senior product R&D roles with Korean and Japanese multinationals. He was also a founding director of the Australian Microelectronics Network.
Dr Simon Goon, Director, Inward Investment & Aftercare, One NorthEast Regional Development Agency, UK
In his role of Director Inbound Investment, Simon has facilitated the development of a number of emerging ICT companies, delivering the benefits of a North East England location. He is an experienced product manager with a background in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, including senior product and R & D management roles for Rhodia Pharma and Seal Sands Chemicals with full “cradle to grave” lifecycle management of complex technology products.
